Carterville Intermediate School students are spending their final quarter of the school year focusing on kindness. CHS senior athletes joined us to kick off the quarter with a presentation on kindness, offering real-life examples of when someone has been kind to them or they have been kind to others. Fourth and fifth-grade students then had the opportunity to show kindness to others by participating in donation drives for the Lighthouse Shelter and The Night's Shield Children's Shelter. Our sixth-grade students are donating their time serving meals at the Herrin House of Hope. Finally, our students have been asked to reflect on how they are kind to others. These reflections are being displayed on a bulletin board in our main hallway. CIS is fortunate to have so many generous and kind students and we are excited to give back to our community!
