Fifth grade students had the opportunity to apply their knowledge with a presentation from agronomist, John Pike. Students have been learning about corn in their ELA unit and had the opportunity to expand this knowledge with local farmer and owner of Pike Ag LLC. Mr. Pike is an expert in soil management and crop production and has been an instructor and researcher at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Lakeland College. His engaging presentation provided real-life application to the skills that the students have been practicing in the classroom.
